Hello i purchased your excellent theme. But i got a problem. it’s not possible to use the personnalization for our article? like the citation, or others elements to make nice article like your demo : http://www.3forty.media/carrino/2018/05/11/celebrated-her-had-sentiments-understood-are-projection-set/

Could you please help us to find the solution? in my editor i can’t make this personalization.

Perfect, i found it. another question? if i’ll use the home page with all last articles. www.pog.news i’d like to make the setting for the title and description of the “home page” when you share it on social networks for example and choose the image too. For a traditional page, i use yoast. but here i really don’t know how manage it?

3FortyMedia Author

Hi,

That’s the summary card feature in twitter and the preview card in Facebook. You need to use a plugin for that, here’s one for twitter cards: https://wordpress.org/plugins/twitter-cards-meta/

I hope this helps

Thanks – Steve

3FortyMedia Author

You might also want to look at this plugin which handles all of your open graph and card tags: https://en-gb.wordpress.org/plugins/wonderm00ns-simple-facebook-open-graph-tags/

Amazing theme! Presale: I have noticed that the search option on mobile is not perfect. It works but the design is not very handy. Not centered and the border is glitching when typing. Is it me? Or needs this some modifications? Hopefully this can be ‘fixed’? Then I will definitely buy your theme.

3FortyMedia Author

I am working on a an update that has some minor CSS changes. These may include mobile search form changes.

Thanks – Steve

meijerinkj

Thanks Steve. I will wait on that update. Keep up the good work!

Hi! I’m trying to optimize the fonts that I’m loading with the theme. I want only the latin subset, not all of them. What code do I need to add in functions.php only for the latin subset to load? http://prntscr.com/qgi2rt

3FortyMedia Author

Hi,

Subsets are dynamically served in browsers that support it. It’s not possible to load only the latin subset.

I hope this helps

Thanks – Steve

bogdan_sandu

Actually, it is but that’s not important now.

Can you please tell me if I mess up something if I remove the fonts enqueue from functions.php and I simply load the fonts in the header with the classic embed from Google fonts?

3FortyMedia Author

That’s fine.

You don’t need to remove any functions, simple comment out line 258 in functions.php

I hope this helps

Thanks – Steve

Hello! I purchased your Carrino Theme today. I want to import the demo-data.xml file but I can’t find it in the download file (I already extracted it). Please help me! Can you send me that missing file please? Thanks!

3FortyMedia Author

Hi,

Thanks for your message.

Look for carrino-demo-data.xml in the unzipped theme folder. Or you can download it here: http://3forty.media/media/carrino-demo-data.xml

I hope this helps

Thanks – Steve

Hi There! I updated to the new theme update tonight, and had to put my Google analytics code back into my site, but something isn’t right. I know it’s New Years eve, but I average around 5k visits a day, and now (for the last few hours since I changed over to the updated theme), it has me at 0 to 5 visits at a time. Which is NOT normal for me. Also, I noticed a LOT of errors in the css area that states it would break my site. Can I just grab an older copy of carrino to replace? Thank you! Or maybe you have some other ideas? I have a screenshot of all the errors.

notageek4u

OKay, please disregard my last message. It was a plugin messing around with the code. Happy New Years!!

3FortyMedia Author

Thanks for letting me know, glad you found the problem.

notageek4u

You’re welcome, and thank you for an amazing theme.

Hi

I try to add a custom logo for my blog with your theme. On desktop the logo looks great and in an appropriate size. But on mobile the logo is so tiny you can barely read it.

The logo is rectangular like 2000×274 pixel.

What is wrong with the mobile size.

All the best

Pascal

3FortyMedia Author

Hi,

I’m working on an update that includes changes to the logo display on mobile devices. Until then you can modify the CSS to increase the size of the logo.

Add this to Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS

@media (max-width: 480px ) { .custom-logo { max-width: 50% !important; }

Change 50% to whatever you need (Higher number larger logo)

I hope this helps

Thanks – Steve

Findolfin

Hi

Thanks for the answer. If I put in your code on custom CSS it says

There is 1 error which must be fixed before you can save.

3FortyMedia Author

Sorry, I missed off a closing bracket, here you go:

@media (max-width: 480px ) { .custom-logo { max-width: 50% !important; }}

notageek4u

I received the error/warnings in Google Search Console. It’s for older posts. I’ve gone back and tried to update them to see if I did something wrong. I had them try to validate my fixes, and they still failed. Then I tested a theory. I removed the captions from photos of the DIY tutorial I created, and that fixed the issue at hand. Just thought I would let you know because I wasn’t sure if this was s coding error or not. Have an awesome day!

Messages are: -Text too small to read -Clickable Elements too close together -Content wider than screen This is a link to 1 example: https://foodnservice.com/instant-pot-cauliflower/

3FortyMedia Author

Thanks for that.

I’ve checked this and it’s not caused by the theme.

As you have already realized It’s most likely caused by post content (if using a page builder or alternative editor and particularly old content created in the old editor) and plugin output.

Thanks – Steve

notageek4u

Thanks so much for checking this out for me, and I’m going to agree with you about it being the older content done with the older editor.

After months of using the theme, I am still deeply satisfied with it! However, I came across two issues that I hoped you may help me with:

1) The comments under the posts appear with way too much vertical space between them, so much so that one can’t read them without scrolling. See for example here https://www.thephdlab.com/phd-in-finland/

2) When one clicks on the author name in a post, one is transported back to the landing page. Is it possible to link the author name to an author site, possibly an automatically generated one, where one can read the author info?

Thanks a lot!

3FortyMedia Author

Hi,

Thanks for your message.

Your issues are specific to your installation, maybe caused by a plugin or modification. They are not a problem with the theme.

1. I have uploaded two screen shots of the inspector in developer tools. Here is your output: http://3forty.media/media/phdlab-comments.png and here is the theme output (demo) http://3forty.media/media/carrino-comments.png

You can see you have different output. In particular the avatar.avatar-50 classes are missing from the avatar in your installation. These classes are output by WordPress and for whatever reason they are being removed.

2. Again this seems to be an issue with your installation. Click the author name on this post http://www.3forty.media/carrino/2018/04/29/uneasy-no-settle-whence-nature-narrow-in-afraid/ It takes you to the author page.

I would recommend disabling all plugins on your site (not 340 Media Plugins), testing again and then re-enable your plugins one by one to see if one of them breaks the theme.

I hope this helps

Thanks – Steve

00kwerner

Thank you, Steve! Disabling and enabling the pugins again did help indeed. Issue 2) was caused by the Yoast SEO plugin. Issue 1) was not caused by a specific plugin, but still, was solved after they all were activated again one by one.

1. I really like the template. Thank you very much.

2. One thing I noticed (negative): If a post has no keywords, the design (at the end) will be destroyed.

3. How does the “Read Time” work? I never get anything displayed.

4. Here are some ideas for an update:

- Post Template Design -> adjustable for each post - Sidebar (yes / no) -> adjustable for each post and page - Sidebar sticky behavior -> Global and adjustable for each post - Header (yes / no) -> adjustable for each post - Footer (yes / no) -> adjustable for each post - Include more translations (e.g. “by”, “comments” are still in English for me) - More static sidebars

3FortyMedia Author

Thanks for your message.

I’m working on an update now which I’m hoping to release next week, I’ll certainly consider your suggestions for the update. To address your points;

2. I cannot find an issue when I remove keywords, can you post an example?

3. You need to install the 340 Media Theme Boost Plugin. That will add read time to posts. You can then go to Appearance > Customize > Carrino: Theme Settings > Homepage Settings and check “Read Time”

You can also do this for Archive Settings and Single Post Settings

4. “by” is in theme files and plugin files. You will need to translate the plugin files too.

- Post Template Design is already editable for each post. You need to install the 340 Media Theme Boost Plugin then scroll to the bottom of the Gutenberg Document Panel. There you can select the post template/style.

I hope this helps

Thanks – Steve

Pre purchase question. I think it’s amazing that your theme is optimized for mobile with vertical thumbnails, this is so rare to find here, but I have a question. It is possible that vertical thumbnails can be organized in two columns in mobile version, just like the pinsterest app, see the link below

I disabled the Autoptimize plugin and even wp rocket and still the css line doesn’t work

3FortyMedia Author

Hi,

The envato comments editor has converted the CSS markup so it doesn’t work when you add it to the WordPress editor. The code definitely works.

Lets try this instead; Here’s is the CSS code: http://3forty.media/media/anonimatta.txt

1. Replace the CSS with this.

2. Uncheck: “Also aggregate inline CSS” in autoptimize

3. Clear cache

I hope this helps

Thanks – Steve

work well, thanks. For the next updates, would be nice has this features outside the thumbnail cover https://prnt.sc/qpajh2

Hi

Is it possible to show the caption of the featured image? It is very important to me as I have to mention the image copyright on every image. Otherwise there is a risk to get sued.

I think this is important to other Europe users too.

3FortyMedia Author

Hi,

I’m working on the next update which has this option. I hope to release the next update in the first week of February or sooner.

If you don’t want to wait you can email me [email protected] and I can add it for you now.

Thanks – Steve

Add this to Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS (or your child theme CSS if you are using the child theme)

@media (max-width:480px) {.hero .entry-meta:not(.after-title) { display: block; }}

anonimatta2

Not work.

another problem, my logo appears very small in the mobile version, how can I make it bigger

3FortyMedia Author

It does work, you need to un-check “inline all CSS” in Autoptimize settings and clear cache. Or you can edit out line 3870 in style.css or change the line from display:none to display:block

I have released an update that adds the ability to change the logo size in desktop and mobile. If you don’t want to update you can add this to Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS

@media (max-width:480px) {.custom-logo { max-width: 60%; }}

Change 60% to whatever you need (higher number = bigger logo)
