Hi. Just bought and installed Compose. First notification in the theme says: “There is a new version of the WP Compose theme available. You have version 1.0.0 installed. Update to version 1.3.” I did, but naturally, I get excactly the same version 1.0 as I downloaded 20 minutes ago. How do I get hold of version 1.3?

FYI : The name of the file is: themeforest-3272722-wp-compose-responsive-wordpress-theme.zip (file size: 3.902.504 byte on my mac)

I’m not too concerned about the alert. But the download you offer is still v1.0.0 according to style.css. And according to your change log there’s supposed to be a version 1.3. I would really like to have that version installed before I start the implementation. So please: how do I get version 1.3?

Or was this changelog simply a mixup with another theme?

Changelog

Version 1.3

Compatible worpdress 3.4.1. Added the slideshow autoplay option in the admin panel Added swipe input for tablets and mobile phones Added menu hierarchy for mobile devices Slideshow caption now smaller on mobile devices Portfolio project page layout now changed: the excerpt on the left, then the rest of the content below the post format (so you can now use shortcodes) next and previous arrows added on lightbox fixed other bugs and glitches Version 1.2

Fixed the video lightbox not showing on the first slide Lightbox on stacked galleries is showing the right image Fixed issues with the search page Fixed various bugs throughout the theme Added pinterst and yelp icons Version 1.1

The page content (below the fold) was made by default visible. Added option to hide it if neccesary Fixed the image shortcode to accept static images (with no lightbox) Fixed issues with the gallery shortcode Added 3rd level submenu Version 1.0

Initial theme version.

There isn’t an v1.0.3, v1.0.0 is the only one that has been released.

OK. I get it. Thought you were merely mending the symptom, not the issue. Thanx.

Pre-sale questions:

Is the large feature image necessary at the top of each post (can some have it and others not)? Can the height of the image be altered from post to post?

Great theme…

Thanks!

contempoinc Author

The featured image is required for posts, however I might add an option to remove it post-to-post in a future update.

The height can be altered via the options panel but for all images not post-to-post, at this point in time.

Thanks for the reply… one other thing: I wanted to check the look of comments and your only post with comments “Child Theme Creator” doesn’t show them. I tried clicking where it says “3 comments” and they still didn’t show.

Is this a bug or a setting that is amiss?

contempoinc Author

Small bug, thanks for the heads up! Its fixed:

Hi, I’m looking to buy this theme. I see that the front page has a single column of 700px. Is there an option to put in a sidebar? Indeed is there a sidebar option on the other pages too?

contempoinc Author

There isn’t an option for a sidebar, but you could modify it to include one.

Hello, I’ve just bought your theme and I’m facing a problem. I’ve been trying to find the way to set the featured image for a new post without luck. I’ve followed your instructions but I can’t find the “image icon next to Upload/Insert” or whatever should I click to select the featured image. Can you provide me some kind of support please?

thanks!

contempoinc Author

It was changed to Add Media in WordPress 3.5+ sorry for the confusion.

sukidesign

Well, I figured out that. What I meant was that I can’t set the “featured image” in a post. I’ve imported your demo settings and your old posts have the featured image. I can’t find out how to do it, even if I look at your example posts I can’t find where did you set it up.

I can provide access to the wordpress so you can take a look by yourself. Thanks in advance!

contempoinc Author

If you hit the dropdown in the media manager on a post and select uploaded to this post whatever the first image is set to is your featured image.

smvmedia

same problem as above: www.walterdanley.com

Click ADD MEDIA. Set it to full size. It is then inserting into the post. It’s not showing as the slideshow images. Perhaps a more detailed walktrhough, please?

contempoinc Author

The process changed slightly in WordPress 3.5+

Open up a post Click Add Media button Click Upload Select all your files you wish to upload Once uploaded, click the X (top right) That’s it! You can close the window, click Publish or Update and view your listing. Now if you would like to select a different first image or re-order the other images for the slider: Open up a post Click Add Media button Click the Media Library tab Select Attached to post Now you can click and drag your images around to sort them, the first image in the list will always be your main image.

smvmedia

Thank you. Now I have loaded 3 images successfully, but the images do not rotate. Any suggestions?

contempoinc Author

I apologize Compose doesn’t include a lead image slider, it just uses a single lead.

Is there a bug in the H1-Headings? Unfortunately every H1 on home-site is overlaid…

contempoinc Author

Make sure to upload an image to each of your posts, and the layout will display correctly.

you should really consider adding a media portfolio section as well. this template is great for showcasing writing yes, but as you know many of us have other interests and passions as well,ie photos, illustrations, animations etc, so a portfolio and gallery option for these things would be great as well. just saying.
