hello ! bought the theme a few years ago and everything is fine but i want to make some changes now and could need some help.

instead of showing the resized thumbnail of a post image on the main page i would like to create those thumbs by myself and specify the url via custom field. could you please tell me what files i have to alter. haven´t workod on the theme a few years and i can´t find the files that need editing. you would save me a lot of time. thx !!

Hi,

In WordPress the images always use the “Featured Image” function and it doesn’t support custom URL’s for security reasons. If you want to be able to use custom URL’s you would have to use a plugin such as this one – https://wordpress.org/plugins/featured-image-from-url/

Hi there, nice theme! Is there any possibility to change the look of the header? (other than black/white). I think the header looks so ‘2013’. And makes the whole theme look a bit outdated. Otherwise it’s a great theme.

Thanks. Nanda

Hi Nanda,

I’m not sure what you mean, it’s just a simple plain header so it can’t really look outdated (in fact minimal is very popular now). Are you referring to the “gradients” perhaps? What would you want to change?

Hi AJ,

I’ve bought the theme anyway :-))

It’s just a feeling a got.  And I like it if a theme has multiple options for the header section.  (I think it’s the lines that make it look a bit like buttons).

But I’m happy with it Thanks for your reply!

Kind regards,

Hi AJ, I just suggest input for the new update, maybe in Format Quote have an optional for just text or just image… thanks for your attention #greatthemefabulous

WPExplorer Author

You mean the blog quote format entries?

rwmalis

Can I add a header image? If so, do you have any examples of how that looks? Would you suggest I create a child theme and insert it into the header file or some other way? Would you recommend a different theme.

WPExplorer Author

Hi,

By “header image” do you mean a background under the logo? Because the default logo where it says “fabulous” is an image and can be changed easily via the WP customizer by simply uploading your own custom image. But if you want to place an image behind it you would need to use a little CSS which I can help you with. No need for a child theme though, this can be done via Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS.

If you have a mockup or sample site with what you want it would be very helpful.

Hi need your advise Can I input caption on the featured image in the post? and how to edit the size font, align in that caption?

xtremshow

Hi, I’m very interesting in you template but the only thing is that the “quote” presentation on the home page is not really nice since there is no space (left – right – upper..). Is it possible to modify it ?

WPExplorer Author

You can alter the Quote design with a little CSS if you wanted. I can assist if needed.

rpsherman1

why is this not being updated anymore

WPExplorer Author

There hasn’t been any need for updates recently. Are you having any issues that need fixing?

Hello, how are other blog elements styled, like for exemple the Calendar? Can the logo be a text (google font ?) Is it possible to have a small arrow or something in the menu to point to sub menus ? Do you have a setting to disable comments everywhere ? (I know there are plugins for that, but as you offer control for pages comments) Thanks in advance for your answers.

WPExplorer Author

Hi,

Here is a screenshot of the calendar widget: https://cl.ly/19d9c9 Yes you can remove the default image logo via the Customizer: https://cl.ly/9c74ad The theme doesn’t have the arrows added to the menu by default, but it’s something you could add via some custom CSS targeting the core “menu-item-has-children” wordpress menu class which is added to all parent menu items. There is already an option in WordPress to disable comments under Settings > Discussion which is available for any theme you use: https://cl.ly/b5f6e7 – there isn’t a global Customizer option, but it’s something I could very easily add in the next theme update
