I have version 1.0 of the Hawthorn (license expired) is it compatible with Wordpress 5.03? And is there any way I can get the New Narrow width posts feature? Thanks

SoloPine Author

Hi there,

Sure thing! Your Hawthorn license includes free theme updates for the life of the theme, so you’re very welcome to download and install Hawthorn’s most recent version (version 1.2) . This version includes support for the latest version of WordPress and the new Narrow Width post option

For instructions on how to update your theme, you can reference our article here: https://solopine.ticksy.com//article/2795/

Cheers!

Hi, does it have a RTL compatibility?

SoloPine Author

Hi there,

Yes, Hawthorn is RTL compatible. If you were to find anything acting strangely after implementing RTL, you’d be very welcome to let us know and we can help remedy it

Cheers!

AgnessaTal

Thank you! will I be able to change the font style and all the design things?

SoloPine Author

Yes, via the theme’s Customizer section (WP Dashboard > Appearance > Customize) you can change the layouts, colors, enable/disable elements, etc. To change the theme’s fonts, we have an article on how to go about it using the “Easy Google Fonts” plugin here: https://solopine.ticksy.com/article/2721/

Hi. I’m interested in Hawthorne. I just have one question, what is the maximum amount of posts allowed in the post slider?

SoloPine Author

Hi there,

Thanks for your interest! I don’t believe there is a maximum number of posts the slider will accept. At least we haven’t set a maximum number within its code

Please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any questions! Cheers!

Hello, I have Willow theme and I cannot find any support about it. Anyway I just need to modify the url of google fonts src (http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Raleway) because I have to change it in https because of the ssl certificate. Can you help me to find the file where the string is generated? Thank you!

SoloPine Author

Hi there,

Yes, our Willow theme was unfortunately retired more than a year ago. It had been a collaboration between ourselves (designers) and some peers (the developers). Over time, the developers stopped updating Willow and we could no longer continue selling the theme on our account in good conscience. So we came to the difficult decision to pull it.

To change the “http” to “https” for the Google Fonts, you can navigate to WP Dashboard > Editor > “vafpress-framework” folder > “classes” folder > “site” folder > and open “googlewebfonts.php”. On line 101, you’ll see the URL for the Google Fonts.

Hello,

One short question regarding the woocommerce product page on mobile devices

The product page is taking just half of the mobile device screen. it should work as in the demo shop product page.

Do you have any idea why?

Thanks!

Hi again,

I found the thread on the BXslider github talking about the issue https://github.com/stevenwanderski/bxslider-4/issues/1240

Seems like BXslider doesn’t have a fix yet but setting touchEnabled to false should solve the problem.

To do this, go to “js” folder > solopine.js, on line 13 you should see:

adaptiveHeight: false,

Create a new line under this and add:

touchEnabled: false,

Remember to clear your cache afterwards.

Let me know how it goes

Zaleczny

Thank you for the correction

Hi! Quick pre-sales question: I love your list home page for desktop, but prefer the standard layout on phone. Is there the possibility to use the one on desktop, the other on phone? Both a standard setting and some code needed would be fine, I can code a bit!

SoloPine Author

Hi there,

Unfortunately we don’t have an option to use a different layout on mobile, however we could modify the list layout to look like this: http://www.awesomescreenshot.com/image/3924604/4e8a8ab0f853b8701548eaa23c73fb8c with some CSS adjustments

Cheers!

BovanUnen

Hi again! Thank you for getting back to me so quickly! If some CSS is all it takes, that would be perfect. Best, Bo van Unen.

SoloPine Author

Hi Bo,

If you do go ahead with Hawthorn and would like some guidance on what CSS code to add to achieve that mobile layout shown in the screenshot, feel free to let us know and we’d be happy to share it

Otherwise, don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any questions!

Hi, Thank you for answering my questions earlier over on the Laurel theme – I’ve read your install info on ticksy – v clear and detailed and looked at all the examples. I think the ‘featured area posts’ is the decider for me to pick this theme (as I can pull different Spring flower posts together for example). - as you mentioned on laurel – I see that this theme can have a full photo with blog name overlay as the header. - just wanted to check that the colour edit options mean I can change the black boxes on the live demo to other colours. - I saw there’s the plugin for the font changes. - I’ve also had a good look at the gallery options so this also suits my blog. also pleased to see all the positive reviews too. I’ll be purchasing in the morning as it’s late here in the UK. thanks Bec

SoloPine Author

Hi Bec,

So happy to hear it! We try our best to provide easy-to-follow documentation

Yes, in both Hawthorn and Laurel, you can pull posts into your Featured Area Slider either by choosing to show the most recent across all categories, the most recent from a specific category, or you can use the unique post OR page IDs to pull in particular posts/pages. You’re very welcome to change the Featured Area’s black colors to any colors you prefer via WP Dashboard > Appearance > Customize > Color & Style Settings > Featured Area Colors.

In Hawthorn you can indeed have a full-width logo image. One thing I’d like to note with Hawthorn, though, is that its Featured Area expands out beyond the content container, so the logo image would be as wide as the navigation element and not the Featured Area. Here’s a screenshot with the blue area highlighting the max-width of the logo image: https://www.awesomescreenshot.com/image/3950351/5e0b6e5535cf4173a6fe50011fa123dc

If you come up with any questions at all about Hawthorn, please don’t hesitate to let us know!

Cheers!

Hi,

We noticed recently that the links in the featured slider on the homepage no longer work on Chrome Desktop. It is visible on your live demo site as well. Other browsers and mobile seem to work and the code looks okay – however, the links just don’t do anything on Chrome Desktop. Please advise. Reference image: https://snag.gy/bDt8ax.jpg

Thanks.

SoloPine Author

Hi there,

We just sent out a small update (1.2.2) that fixes this issue. This was a bug between the BXslider plugin and the latest Chrome version.

Thank you!

Hi there, I’d like to set up a page that I could use on my Instagram profile that would function like a LinkTree page. I was wondering if there’s any way to specify that a single page not include the header and footer from the website without applying that to any other pages? Thanks!

SoloPine Author

Hi there,

Sure! You’ll need to target just that 1 page using its unique ID number. In order to determine a page’s ID number, you can check out our article here: https://solopine.ticksy.com//article/4243/

Once you know the ID number, you can copy and paste the following code into your Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS box:

.page-id-123 #header, .page-id-123 #navigation, .page-id-123 #ig-footer, .page-id-123 #footer, .page-id-123 #footer-bottom { display: none; }

In the above code, do you see the 5 instances where it says ”.page-id-123”? You’ll want to replace the “123” number value with whatever your actual page ID number is. So, if your page ID number is “85” (for example), you would change ALL of the “123” numbers to instead be “85”.

If you then wanted to give a bit of spacing above your content area, you can also paste in this code, too:

.page-id-123 .sp-container.content { margin-top: 50px; }

Again, please change the “123” number to your actual page ID number. And feel free to change the “50px” number value to whatever spacing you best prefer.

If you have any questions about this or any other theme-related questions in the future, please don’t hesitate to head on over to our support site at https://solopine.ticksy.com and open up a new support ticket. We’d be happy to help!

Cheers!

Thanks for your help! I used the code and it works perfectly on my latptop (no header/footer/menu) But the menu/header appear on the mobile version. Thoughts? thoughtbirth.com/Instagram

SoloPine Author

Oops! My mistake! Can you please instead use the following in your Appearance > Customize > Custom CSS box? I’ve added some more selectors to target the mobile elements.

.page-id-123 #header, .page-id-123 #header-mobile-wrapper, .page-id-123 #navigation, .page-id-123 #mobile-top, .page-id-123 #ig-footer, .page-id-123 #footer, .page-id-123 #footer-bottom { display: none; }

Please let me know how it goes! Cheers!

Hi, is it possible to exclude from the homepage loop the articles selected in the featured area?

SoloPine Author

Hi there,

I’m afraid there isn’t an option to offset the post loop itself based on what’s in the Featured Area element, however you could pull in specific posts or pages to the Featured Area or from a particular post category if you’d like to avoid posts being repeated in the loop below. We have a guide on how to do so here: https://solopine.ticksy.com/article/12502/#feat-area

If you have any questions about this or find yourself with any other theme-related questions, please head on over to our support site at https://solopine.ticksy.com and open up a new ticket. We’d be happy to help!

The Featured Area “Read More” button seems to not work for me… Am I doing something wrong? www.momproductivity.com

SoloPine Author

Hi there! I see what you mean. It looks like the BxSlider issue that’s occurring is one we fixed in Hawthorn’s most recent theme update (version 1.3). Can you please try updating your theme and see if this does the trick? We have an update guide here: https://solopine.ticksy.com//article/2795/

Let us know how it goes! Cheers!

That fixed it, thanks so much! Continuing to love this theme!

Hi,

Is there any way to insert Whatsapp share icon instead of Google Plus icon ? ( Google+ is no longer available )

Is there any code snippet to add to the theme php files….

Regards,

SoloPine Author

Hi there,

I believe I’ve found a Whatsapp share URL which may work. First, if you can, I’d recommend updating your Hawthorn theme to the latest version. We’ve since removed the Google+ share icon as it’s no longer running. Instead, we have a LinkedIn share icon. We have a guide for how to update your theme here: https://solopine.ticksy.com/article/7696/

Once you’ve updated your Hawthorn theme, you can go to WP Dashboard > Plugins > Plugin Editor > “inc” folder > and open up the “social_share.php” file.

On blank line 23, you can copy & paste the code from within this pastebin: https://pastebin.com/MXwt1DGQ

Save changes when finished.

Let us know how it goes! Cheers!

Hi!

I just purchased your Hawthorne theme and attempting to install it. I received an error page like this.

Installing Theme from uploaded file: themeforest-VnRY7H07-hawthorn-a-wordpress-blog-shop-theme.zip

Unpacking the package…

Installing the theme…

The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.

Theme installation failed.

I went to your Help Support page and it says to download the installable Wordpress file. The problem is I can’t locate this file. Please let me know what I need to do to install. Thank you!

dkean

Hi again, please disregard my comment. I figured it out. Thank you!

SoloPine Author

Hi there,

I’m happy to hear you were able to resolve it! It sounds like you were perhaps uploading the zipped folder downloaded directly from ThemeForest instead of the “hawthorn.zip” theme folder within.

If you find yourself with any questions whatsoever as you setup Hawthorn, please don’t hesitate to open up a new support ticket at our support site (https://solopine.ticksy.com). We’d be happy to help!

Cheers!
