Can you incorporate both the tag and category descriptions on the archive pages with the next release? I have optimised all these descriptions for SEO but after changing themes, it has disappeared

SoloPine Author

Hi Steve,

I could have sworn we had already added that, but you’re right it’s still missing. We’ll make sure to add that in the next update. For now you can check out https://solopine.ticksy.com/article/4520/

Do you provide one click demo import?

SoloPine Author

We don’t currently have a built in one click demo import, however you can use the following plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/one-click-demo-import/ and we can provide you with the necessary files needed

Hi there! I’m afraid the message you wrote isn’t coming across. Did you by chance resolve it? If not, can you please try re-typing your question for me? Cheers!

dnorrell

Is there currently a way to disable sidebar on pages? It would be nice to customize this per page, if possible.

SoloPine Author

Hi there,

Sure! You can navigate to a page’s edit screen. On the right, look for a drop-down menu titled “Template”. Here, you can choose one of the “full-width” layouts. This will disable the sidebar on that particular page. Please be sure to update the page when finished.

If you find yourself with any other Redwood-related questions, please don’t hesitate to head on over to our support site at https://solopine.ticksy.com and open up a new support ticket. We’d be happy to help!

Cheers!

Thank you so much for that. I found it shortly after I posted my question and felt pretty silly. We’re all allowed to space out from time to time I did want to point out one issue I noticed today while setting up a pop-up email form. The promo box links have a z-index of 999999 and were interfering with my pop-up form input. It was an easy fix in the CSS, but I fell like that z depth could be dialed back a bit on those promo boxes. Ok, that’s all. Great aesthetic to the theme!

SoloPine Author

Hi Adam,

Of course! And you’re definitely right that the Promo Box z-index is a little over the top! We think it may have been leftover from when we were doing testing prior to a theme update. We fortunately haven’t had anyone else report issues caused by this (that I’m aware of) but I’ve made a note to reduce the z-index number in Redwood’s next update. Thanks for pointing that out!

Cheers!

I am curious, how do I create the three boxes under the featured slider?

starry189

Oh got it, it’s promo box. I apologize for the trouble.

SoloPine Author

Hi there, no worries! I’m glad you were able to find the option Cheers!

Hi, I tried changing the CSS of p so I can change the font of the content but I cannot seem to override the built-in “Lora” font. I tried styling ‘body’ but to no avail.

SoloPine Author

Hi there,

May I ask if you’re using a plugin such as “Easy Google Fonts” and followed the steps in our article here? https://solopine.ticksy.com/article/2721/

The plugin will help you import your desired font so you can then apply it using CSS code.

If you are using this plugin and have followed the steps in the guide above, feel free to share a link to your site and let us know which font you’re hoping to replace the default with.

Cheers!

how can I change the text size of button, the button text is hard to read

SoloPine Author

Hi there,

If you could head on over to our support site at https://solopine.ticksy.com , open up a new support ticket, and let us know which buttons you’re hoping to change the text-size of (for example, the newsletter sign-up form button, general input/submit buttons, the Gutenberg button block, etc.), we’d be happy to help!

When logging into the Ticksy support platform, I’d recommend using the “Login with Envato” button option. This lets you log in using the same username and password that you use for your Envato/ThemeForest account. It also auto-verifies purchase codes and all that.

Cheers!

Hello, I’m using the template “1st Full Post Then Grid”. In Google Chrome it’s perfect but on Safari the grid-item is showing among each other instead of two columns.. Do you know this problem and how to fix this?

SoloPine Author

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out! I’ve replied to your support ticket regarding this same question

Hi,

Is there any third-party responsive slider plugins that works with this theme…

Regards, Love the theme.

SoloPine Author

Hi there,

So happy to hear you’re loving Redwood

We like to recommend the “Meta Slider” plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/ml-slider/) and we’ve seen quite a few customers using “Revolution Slider” (https://codecanyon.net/item/slider-revolution-responsive-wordpress-plugin/2751380) with our themes. Though the Revolution Slider is a premium plugin.

I hope this helps!

Cheers!

Thank you so much !!!

But how to add that Meta Slider shortcode ( [metaslider id=”1508”] ) instead of Redwood slider ?

Regards,

SoloPine Author

Hi there,

Are you hoping to insert it into your blog/postfeed page? If so, you’d want to navigate to WP Dashboard > Appearance > Editor > open the “index.php” file > and paste the following code onto blank line 6:

<?php echo do_shortcode('[metaslider id="1508"]'); ?>

Save changes to the file when finished. Then, you’ll just want to make sure you’ve disabled Redwood’s Featured Area Slider via WP Dashboard > Appearance > Customize > Featured Area Settings.

Cheers!

HI can blog posts on this theme show the next and previous post ?

SoloPine Author

Hi there,

We have a guide here on how to add in-post pagination to Redwood: https://solopine.ticksy.com/article/7930/

It’s also something we have noted down as a possible future addition to the theme for an update

Please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any questions!

Hi, is it possible to insert a contact form into the sidebar? I don’t see this option in widgets area

2 other replies

SoloPine Author

Hi there,

That’s strange—I just tested it on my Redwood test site and it rendered into a form. If you’re happy with the WP Form plugin, that’s great! Otherwise, if you’d like us to take a look at why the Contact Form 7 shortcode isn’t rendering correctly in your sidebar, we’d be happy to do so. In this case, you’d be very welcome to open up a new support ticket at https://solopine.ticksy.com

Cheers!

Mafox_

I checked now and it works, I have no idea why only the shortcode instead of the form was displayed before. I don’t know if it matters, but the page code is slightly changed because of the slider I wrote about earlier.

SoloPine Author

Hi there,

Feel free to reply within the support ticket regarding the slider and I’d be happy to take a look

Instagram Footer keeps displaying “Instagram has returned invalid data.” over the past few weeks. How do I get this back to normal?

SoloPine Author

Hi there,

Yes! My apologies for that! That “WP Instagram Widget” plugin we’ve used for years with our themes has suddenly “bitten the dust”, so to speak. We’ll be releasing theme updates with an alternative plugin. However, in the meantime, I would recommend disabling/deleting the “WP Instagram Widget” plugin and instead installing one called “Smash Balloon Social Photo Feed”. We have a guide on how to configure it here: https://solopine.ticksy.com//article/14117/

If you have any questions about this or if you’d like a hand setting it up, please don’t hesitate to head on over to our support site at https://solopine.ticksy.com and opening a new support ticket. We’d be happy to help. And, again, my apologies for the headache!

Cheers!

Hi,

1) I’m using WP Instagram Widget by Scott Evans… But it doesn’t work and display following message…

“Instagram has returned invalid data.”

2) How to setup “Smash Balloon Instagram Feed” widget ?

Please help me.

SoloPine Author

Hi there,

Yes! My apologies about the “WP Instagram Widget”. This plugin recently stopped working. We’ve released an update for Redwood that instead recommends the “Smash Balloon Social Photo Feed” plugin. You can go ahead and disable/delete the “WP Instagram Widget” from your WP.

To configure your “Smash Balloon” Instagram plugin, we have a guide here: https://solopine.ticksy.com/article/15371/

Please let us know how it goes or if you have any questions!

Cheers!

Does the theme Redwood supports Wordpress 5.2.4?

SoloPine Author

Hi there,

Yes, you should be totally safe to use Redwood with WP version 5.2.4+

Cheers!

Just wondering the the subscribe button is meant to have styling? because mine is appearing as a small grey basic button.

SoloPine Author

Hi there,

This is how it should look: http://www.awesomescreenshot.com/image/4358346/16d6409f343f275df90a0d06cc60f277—are you seeing something different?

eatsleepbreathefi

Hi Solo Pine,

I realize my support has expired, but this may be a bug in the theme. I noticed recently that the social media icons in my top bar have disappeared. I’m not sure when they disappeared, but they used to be there! To my knowledge, I haven’t done anything that would have removed these icons.

I read through your Getting Started article on how to display social icons, but cannot find the Redwood Core plugin. Please help!

SoloPine Author

Hi there,

Social icons were moved to the Redwood Core plugin in version 1.7, so if you’re on version 1.7 or higher you’ll need to install the Redwood Core plugin. In order to install this plugin you can go to Appearance > Install Plugins

If you’re not on version 1.7+ and you don’t see your icons, could you please send us an email via the contact form on our profile page and include your site URL and wp admin info so we can take a better look at it?

Cheers!

eatsleepbreathefi

Ah—thank you! I didn’t realize there was a plugin installer inside the Appearance menu. I’ve installed the Redwood Core plugin and all is well again.

Once again, you are wonderful, Solo Pine! Thank you for the quick reply.

SoloPine Author

You’re very welcome!

Unfortunately my Instagram footer isn’t displayed. It says “Die Antwort von Instagram enthielt ungültige Daten.” (English: Instagram’s response contained invalid data).

It would be great, if you could help me in this case.

Madeline94

I found the answer some comments above. Sorry

SoloPine Author

Happy to hear it!

Hi team! Have you included the WordPress core “wp_body_open” action hook in the latest update? http://prntscr.com/q8oc3q

SoloPine Author

Hi there,

It haven’t been added yet but we’ll make sure to include it in the next update. For now you can add the following to your header.php on line 20

<?php wp_body_open(); ?>

Cheers!
