Hello, I just confirmed with my server 1&1 wordpress app centre provider, they are using the latest WP 4.7, and they are saying – that’s why your theme isn’t compatible. Now as my client needs to up and running their website before 31st December and I am aiming to sort out this with the deadline of today at the latest. With no compatibility with the latest version of Word Press, which required for the arrangement, I have to request for the process of cancelling and refund of payment, as it’s simply won’t be able to use your 4.6 or 4.61 compatible version unfortunately.

I would like to submit a refund request.

Hello, It is not your server but your yourself/your client update WP version. As I said above, the issue was fixed in October 2016 and now theme runs finely on 4.6.1. (as stated in description and visible on demo site). Again: tell your client to redownload the latest version of the theme and enjoy working on it. If you will will follow carefully a Help file and work hard you have a chance to make all work done within 1 day.

Hello, I am using wordpress specialised word press server, 1&1 with this arrangement, I can NOT DOWNGRADE wordpress version. So as your theme is not compatible with the current 4.7 wordpress version, which is not, there is no use for me at all. Also, as user, we are not downgrade the wordpress version just because you are only capable to run with much older version. I am not expected that the theme is not only working well, but actually even not be able to be visible in dashboard with error message, there is no way to fix with it with my knowledge, and there is no use whatsoever under the circumstances and I had spent already so much time to find out why this happen, as I have never had an experience before in any theme that I previously purchased where distributing in the market at a time, which is not much up with the current edition of word press.

I therefore request to get full refund as your theme is no use and not to be able to excute project with the current arrangement.

As I explained to you a number of times, I am beginner, so I choose the server who specialised with wordpress and giving me a environment where it’s similar to the wordpress dashboard,

They called – 1&1 Wordpress App centre, the wordPress 4.7 is standard preinstalled, as we encounter the problems of not reading your file and error message below, I upload your files from FTP client simply we never believed “The theme won’t work at all with standard Wordpress 4.7” – thought simply did not copy through upload.

I uploaded through FTP client, to the file structure to the Theme to installed.

After go and back forwarth 2 days, you finally told me that it won’t work unless it’s 2 version older WORDPRESS 4.6 or 4.61.

As I said, I never purchased or find the theme is not even able to use with current standard WordPress.

Also it’s my inevitable environment to use theme work with WordPress 4.7 as it’s standard and I can’t change it – as it’s fixed with he 1&1 wordpress centre arrangement.

Now I am beginner and has a task with strict deadline of finishing and up running hopefully today. I am still not be able to getting your advice without telling me – “it does not work” and “need to downgrade wordpress with FTP client with ordinary server upload”

Now as I have no time and no solution – I have to develop site with free theme within the 1&1’s wordpress dashboard.

As it’s only available and able to produce wordpress site within limited time.

I must also stressed the point that

You said, it said on the spec for the test version, wasn’t clarify or specify for the warning to the purchaser, you should indicate at almost at the beginning,

Now I have to work on the client site within today, only finding what it wrong with the theme for taking me 3 days where you finally told me that it only work with Wordpress 4.6 / 4.61 and I still have not be able to use your theme unfortunately under the arrangement with 1&1 server, where their Wordpress is 4.7 and we can not change the version to downgrade.

I therefore request for the full refund of your theme as I can not use it from now and in the future as it said on the error and even not be able to continue further.

This is not good business manner to sell this expensive theme without any indication of not be able to use current Wordpress version and selling with high price.

As I said to you a number of times, I am a beginner for producing wordpress, I therefore I needed for the support of server who specialised with wordpress, 1&1 (https://www.1and1.co.uk) They use like wordpress dashboard, and import theme normally, and their version of wordpress is current 4.7 is fixed, according to the file structure, I upload to the server to the theme.

If you do not wish to refund your theme which is not working with 4.7 wordpress, which is not well in terms of the technology and necessity of todays client.

If you don’t wish to refund – please fix your bug of your theme to be able to work with 4.7 please, as it standard with your premium charge, I do not believe that you are selling theme is not be able to work with the standard wordpress settings.

If you can’t fix it, please arrange for full refund ASAP, as we need to purchase another theme to be able to work with the client server arrangement.

I requested to get full refund at moment.

So unless we fund our budget again by getting refund, until to purchase another theme which is hopefully compatible with wordpress 4.7, as we have to up and running today, so I put our contents within wordpress free theme from 1&1 dashboard.

Although I installed it correctly it’s not functioning unfortunately as it explained with the communication I attached.

So, unless it’s sold at the author side, what we could to -

- if it’s not be able to work out – cancel the theme – they are going to refund

- get another theme that is working

- look through site and adjust font, and color for the style of website throughout

As you see the attached, I spoke to the customer service of 1&1 and apparently, the theme purchased need to upload with the complicated way to upload with FTP client, if we use the easier way they won’t transfer all the information attached within the folder as 1&1 pointed out.

At the same time, I contacted with the author of theme to get their advice, but it’s unlikely with 1&1 which is 24/7 technical back up, they are likely to be away for Christmas Break.

I will sort out this problem by keep working and let you know once I solved the problems.

Once installed property, it’s matter of time to put everything up. The following are the steps remained to up and running the website for your reference.

1) ok, again: it does not matter in what your server specializes. WP version you update yourself, in Dashboard.

2) I’ll try to explain again but since you are beginner unlikely you understand how WP works. Anyway:

Your client purchased the theme released by me in May, 2014. WP function “the_post_thumbnail_caption()” (see error message) was working finely until WP released 4.6. version. In this very version WP changed rules and as a result the function became incompatible (read fatal error message).

In August 2016 I released theme update where the problem was fixed. As you could see on demo site–it works finely.

However, if 4.6. is not enough for you (though, there is no difference between 4.6 and 4.7 but you do not understand it) I updated my WP demo installation to 4.7. View screenshot:

Since you were hired by you client as a beginner in WP unlikely you may read the code, but ask somebody who knows html/php and who may explain you the difference in how was written the function primarily and how it looks now.

3) Again: you need to redownload the updated version from ThemeForest. If you do not know how, go to Envato Help center. And I repeat in third time: what you need to do is:

I need more details in order to help. What is your website? At which step of setting up the theme did you get white screen? Thank you.

It is mifflintavern.net —I got the rover theme so install via the instructions on your support page. Then it said successfully installed. I hit active and got this white screen that says “The www.mifflintavern.net page isn’t working

www.mifflintavern.net is currently unable to handle this request. HTTP ERROR 500”

I am then not able to even reach the Wordpress page at all. When I go back to my hosting site and press on Wordpress, again, I get the white screen. I can send screenshots if you need.

The only way I can go back to wordpress dashboard is if I back arrow it. I went back a couple pages and can see the themes there. I click on Live Preview for the wordpress theme and am getting the same white screen. I have to click back again and change it to another theme to be able to use the Wordpress dash at all.

I hit activate**—I just had to delete the site that I had to get wordpress functioning again.

Ok, the last update (you can see it on the right sidebar of item details) was made for WP 4.7. Currently I am updating all my themes, but each update takes 2-3 weeks. The moment the update will be ready I’ll supply with the link to the updated version.
