I am having issues with form fields. Labels do not align properly and checkboxes and radio buttons do not get ticked.
Also, the captcha gets all screwed up at the bottom.
You can see the form here:
http://www.101words.org/submit-your-stories/charmingnerd
For the time being, I have commented out line 1477 in the stylesheet. /-webkit-appearance: none;/ I have yet to check the form on other browsers.
parksandparker Author
Hey, sorry about that.
We were trying to override some defaults on mobile Safari, but oversees the issues on the checkbox. The form should work fine on other non-ios/osx browsers.
Expect a fix for this in the next version.
Unfortunately, we can’t do anything about the labels or other form fields. If you need a customised form, you will need to style it using custom CSS accordingly.
Cheers

Hello,
The theme looks great. I will need to offer some kind of area for discussions and feedback, though – will bbpress look good on Typist, or is it not optimized for that?
Thanks!
parksandparker Author
Hi there,
I’m afraid we haven’t tested the theme with BBPress, so we can’t guarantee full compatibility with the plugin.
Hope that answers your question
Thanks
themegump
Is there even a chance that it might be fully compatible, or a chance to get the money back if it isn’t?
Thanks again
parksandparker Author
You may try contacting Envato here if this is possible. Unfortunately we have no control over the refunds.
Cheers

It seems like I am being sent in circles, which doesn’t feel good considering that I am a potential customer and all I’m really seeking is reliable pre-purchase information.
Envato tells me:
“Due to the digital nature of our items, we can only offer a refund if the item is verified as being broken, misleading or malfunctioning. So please make sure a file is right for your project before downloading, as we may be unable to assist you.”
So now I am basically back to square one. It is YOUR product, so you should know best what it can or cannot do. Instead, you are telling me to pay for it, try it, and if it doesn’t work for me, I’m screwed. That’s not very nice, or is it? So either you’d have to guarantee that it works with Buddypress, then I can try it and if it doesn’t, it means I can legitimately apply for a refund.
Or you test it yourself and tell me the results.
The way it’s now, it seems like you actually don’t think it’ll work, but somehow hope I’ll buy it anyway as long as the info I get is ambiguous enough. Personally I don’t think that’s a very good approach.
(Also sent this via email some time ago, but never received a reply.)
parksandparker Author
Hi themegump,
I’m sorry we missed your email. I’ll try to clarify this.
“bbPress 2.x has built-in theme support. All required elements such as front-end editing are included. This means that all functionality will work, even when a theme has no specific bbPress templates or code included with it.”
That’s a direct quote from the bbPress website. Basically bbPress has everything included to work with every theme without any additional code. Since we adhere to all WordPress standards this should mean that bbPress works with Typist out of the box.
However, since we haven’t tested Typist with bbPress and are currently unable to do so I’m a little hesitant to fully promise everything will work. I’m saying this mostly with regard to the design: bbPress might look fairly different from Typist without some additional styling.
Functionality-wise however, everything should work just fine. It’s just the design that may look different from the Typist look.
I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions!
Thanks, Daniel

EDIT: Just to follow up on this: In your first comment you mention bbPress, but in the last one you said BuddyPress. Which one are we talking about here?
themegump
Thanks for the quick reply – doesn’t help me, though. As the makers of this theme, it wouldn’t really take you long to install bbPress and see for yourself. If it works then you have all the reason to advertise it, because it would increase your sales. Half an hour well spent. Unless…
...you are assuming it’ll cause problems or not look good, which is really the only logical reason why you wouldn’t test for yourself and rather give a “we don’t know” reply.
And of course, we’re talking template here and we’re talking design, so if things break it’s hardly a relief if it’s “just” the design.
No promise or guarantee means no refund in the Themeforest, so there’s no way I can buy this theme, sorry.
themegump
Sorry I meant bbPress – been a long day already.
parksandparker Author
Hi Themegump,
We’d like apologize for any shortcomings on our end and hope you’ll find a theme that meets your requirements. To echo what my colleague said, bbPress, the plugin will work just fine with the theme, but it will not fully inherit the visual aspects of the theme – this, we can guarantee
All the best!

How do I show the pictures , when you click a category? Because when I click on a category, only text appears.
I am very interested in purchasing.
parksandparker Author
Hi,
Glad to hear you’re interested in Typist. Currently the category doesn’t display pictures, but it would be fairly easy to add that with a single line of code.
Thanks, Daniel

When finalized the purchase , it is possible you teach me to later add this code?
parksandparker Author
Yes, we can help you with that in our support forum

Hi there… once my support runs out, I cant even see the support area? I asked a question there like 1 year ago which I need to see again but dont have access to it.

Hi there! I am using your theme for quite some time now and it fills just perfectly my every need. Well, almost.
At the start of my webpage I neeed to translate the “read more” button and found this answer to the same question here that solved my problem.
Take a look inside /includes/elements/element-the-content.php where the text is defined.
Cheers
—Syamil MJ
It worked just fine until recently when I wanted to expend my website by addying a multilanguage plugin. Almost everything in it was translated and its working great except that “read more” button. Since the filme that is controlling it is not a poe file, it is just stuck to whatever I translate it to at the element-the-content.php.
Is there a way for that button’s text be controled by a regular poe file which I can translate and use in multiple languages? If so, which file is that?
Thx

Is it possible to add a Newsletter widget in the right colum and/or include a Newsletter landing page?

The theme is showing an automatic update. When I update, the theme changes to an entirely different theme called “The Typist”.

The theme it’s updating automatically to is here: http://poisonedcoffee.com/the-typist/

I have received no response to my numerous support requests. It appears that the author no longer supports this theme.

Can I remove the footer credits for the free version of this theme?

The demo goes to an expired domain page. Obviously this theme is no longer supported or able to be previewed. Why is it still for sale??
